Holcomb Farm is a non-profit mixed-vegetable production farm in West Granby CT. We grow on 26 acres of town-owned property for a 350 member Summer CSA, 80 member Winter CSA, wholesale customers, our on-farm farm stand, and a food donation program called Fresh Access. We use only organic methods and sign CT NOFA’s Farmer’s Pledge but we are not “certified” organic. Holcomb Farm is a historic, beloved farm in the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains, a half hour from Hartford and a proud part of a vibrant agricultural community in the Town of Granby.
Full Time Crew Members for 2016 Season
We are looking for a select group of responsible, hard-working, and enthusiastic people to join our farm crew for the 2016 season. Each member of our crew will play a critical role in the production, harvest and distribution of crops, and will be expected to take on individual responsibilities within the structure of the farm team. Previous experience in farming or similar work outdoors is preferred but not necessary to be considered for this position. Individuals must have the ability to lift 50 lbs comfortably and regularly, and work outdoors regardless of the weather. Compensation includes $10.00/hr, option to a private room in the farm house for $225/month (utilities included), workers compensation, on-farm produce, and a discount on farm store products. The work schedule will vary according to the time of year and weather, but the crew can expect to work 7 to 5 Monday through Saturday at the height of the season,with shorter work days in the spring and fall. We also plan for periodic vacation days for all crew members to give a break from the demanding schedule. Most positions will run from the beginning of April 2016 until mid-November 2016.

Available Workshare Positions
In exchange for 60 hours of work at the farm, our Workshares receive a CSA Share (a 20- week season of fresh naturally grown produce for the value of $625.) Workshare positions are considered as important as our employees and are held up to the same standards. We only accept Workshares who offer certain skill sets needed on the farm. Application requires a resume, cover letter, and references.
