Dairy Farmhand


Must have at least 2 years full season experience and knowledge of day to day jobs to be done on a New Zealand dairy farm.
(No overseas applicants please)
Must be fit and able for the job; no past injuries or health issues (that may 'pop up' to hinder your working) or drug or alcohol addictions please.
(Because of low pay out and our investment as 50:50 share milkers last season) - We do require you have your own 2 wheeler FARM motorbike (We provide fuel). You need to maintain.
All aspects of milking cows properly, efficiently and consistently e.g. stripping quarters before cupping up, accurately detecting mastitis, recupping kicked off cups, not over milking, adequate teat spraying.
All aspects of cow health e.g. detecting and pulling out lame, sick, springer, calved, in season cows for treatment/management. Can treat lame cows an asset but only if you have training or if you have excellent skills on how to do.
All aspects of dairy shed jobs; cleanliness, plant setup, plant washes, dispensing chemicals accurately and consistently (dosatron unit), back flush (rainmaker - can explain what is), safety
Accurate record keeping e.g. matching cows to calves, cow treatments, time sheets,
Accurately and efficiently putting up break fencing for cows in paddocks and crops.
Must be able to competently and safely ride 2 wheeler and 4 wheeler motorbikes. Maintanence and upkeep/cleanliness of motorbikes and trailers a MUST.
Tractor experience and maintenance asset but only if you have vast experience with use of them and have highly safe and careful working practices.
Fencing experience an asset but not necessary as I can show you.
Be able to work as an effective team member. 
Can handle working within a team that has a loud NZ workaholic and also their opposite.
